Karen Ward lives in a small village south of York. She says "I've drawn and painted forever - mainly horses. I did a lot of animal portraits in the past, but since starting my own jewellery design business this has taken a back seat. Recent retirement from my "day job" led to me being able to devote more time to my artistic pursuits and I started painting again after a gap of 12 years. I have always made "one of a kind designs" and love learning new techniques, by happy accident some experimenting last year led to a crossover between my drawing and jewellery as can be seen from some of my recent engraved animal pieces. I am loving doing this work and excited to see where it will lead!"
