Saskia Gavin has her workshop at home in Edinburgh where she started making and selling as Saskia Gavin Jewellery in 2021. Taking shapes and forms from my environment she makes jewellery and sculpture from mostly silver and copper and is particularly attracted to the rhythms created by repeated elements. She uses a mixture of traditional metal working techniques and newer technologies allowing her to create tactile kinetic pieces that satisfy her aesthetic. Surfaces are textured: finely etched lines and patterns, reflective hammered pieces, rubbed and scoured planes. Saskia uses patination and hints of gold plating for emphasis and contrast. Her jewellery is to be touched and fiddled with as much as to be looked at and so  she like pieces that move, and pay attention to joins/and links to achieve this. 
The prices range from £45 to about £390.
